I only went to Smith's because we were COMPLETELY out of cereal and I thought I'd pick up eggs and butter while I was there.  My happy finds were the pepperoni and cases of diapers I found on clearance (and had coupons for)!

My trip to Smith's reminded me of another reason I like to shop at several different stores to get the best deals...you get to check out the clearance!  By shopping at more than one store, I can find deals that I would miss simply because I wasn't in the store.  Clearance varies from store to store, so I wouldn't rush out to try to find the same clearance deals as someone else, but when I'm in a store I certainly keep my eyes open.
